Description: Argentine Tango workshop, beginner to intermediate level. This will be the fourth two hour workshop Tyree has taught this year, so we are getting past the very basic basics and into more interesting combinations of ochos, boleos, barridas, etc.

This workshop is still geared toward relatively new tango dancers. [More experienced tangueros will get a good review and dancers new to tango will be challenged].

Pamm is teaching her daily drop-in dance class again this month. We teach a lot of dances here at Two Left Feet, and this class gives you a chance to try almost all of them. Our tango and swing guest instructors return in March.  This month, each workshop will be followed by a two hour practice party.

Tango  March 21st  5pm

Leroy “T Mambo Jazz” Tyree gives us another “bite of the elephant”.  He starts with the basics; if you are new to tango, it isn’t too late to join us.  If you are an experienced dancer, this is a great review of the fundamentals.  A practica from 7 to 9pm will give you a chance to practice what you’ve learned.

Swing  March 28th  5pm 4pm

Carl Linder and Karrie Willis will return for another swing workshop.  They have long been popular instructors at Frankie’s Blue Room and other venues.  Like Tyree, they have a smooth, comfortable dancing style and great sensitivity to the music.  We’ll have a party afterwards, with swing music plus other dance music, depending on dancers’ interest. Because of the Swinger’s Ball at the Willowbrook, we will not have a dance party on the 28th.

Looking a little farther ahead, Pamm’s own teacher, Mary Hoedeman, will return the first second weekend of May with both workshops & private lessons.

The Sunday evening Naperville Ballroom Dancing Meetup group will meet twice this month, at SummerDance in Chicago. All are welcome to attend and these outings are free.

On August 10th, there will be a jive lesson from 4 to 5 pm followed by ballroom dancing from 5 to 7 pm.

On August 24th, there will be an Argentine tango lesson from 4 to 5 pm followed by tango music and dancing from 5 to 7 pm.

Both of these events will have live bands providing music to dance to. They will be held in the Spirit of Music Garden in Grant Park, which is on the east side of Michigan Avenue in Chicago between Harrison Street and Balbo Drive. We will tape signs to a couple chairs and maybe fly a red flag to give people a meeting point. You can RSVP on the meetup web page.

In addition, Two Left Feet will have its regular 2nd & 4th Fridays of the month parties, on August 8th and August 22nd at 8:30 pm. These parties are free for Two Left Feet students and their first-time guests, and just $5 for others.

There is a tango festival at the University of Chicago this weekend 4/20-4/22.
