Classes

Are you looking for something constructive for your school-aged children to do this summer? Want some free time for yourself during those summer months when school is out?

Two Left Feet Dance Club is holding our first annual Summer Dance Camp starting June 14th 2010 and running until August 6th 2010. August 8th 2010 the students will be involved in a dance recital showing off everything they have learned during Dance Camp.

Students’ grades 4-8 are eligible to join any of the classes we are offering. These classes include Hip Hop, Cheer, Jazz, and Ballroom and Latin.

We have a new class at Edward Hospital starting this Friday at 7 pm. Kerry Romac is the teacher. The class will run from 7 to 8 pm for 6 weeks. Contact the Fitness Center at Edward for more information, (630) 646-5900.

Our Potluck class offers something new every month. We start every class with a basic figure, so you can drop in any week, but if if you stay with the class for a whole month, you’ll learn the month’s dance in greater depth than you would with our Beginner-1/Beginner-2 dance series (which teaches you a wider variety of dances). Here is our planned schedule for the upcoming year:

April 2010 Jitterbug
May Merengue
June Nightclub
July Rumba
August Salsa
September American Tango
October Waltz
November West Coast Swing
December Bolero
January 2011 Cha Cha
February East Coast Swing
March Foxtrot
April Hustle

Due to inclement weather, this evening’s classes have been cancelled. Stay home & stay warm.

Want to be a better dancer? Want to look like a dancer? Pamm will be teaching a dance technique class from 8 to 9 pm on Mondays starting in January that focuses in on the details she mentions but does not emphasize in the more figure- & routine-oriented classes.

Rise and fall, sway, hip movement, arm placement, etc, etc. will all be explained and illustrated using the bronze-level dance figures you have already learned.  Review, refine, repeat, and become the great dancer you can be!

The cost is $46 per four week session, plus a one-time $50 deposit that she will use towards her entry fees and costumes, if you choose to partner with her in dance competition. The class is not just for competitors though; better technique will make you a more enjoyable partner for social dancing, too.

Please call 630-717-9930 to register for the class.

With some of the students and all of the teachers gone this Friday, the party will be smaller than usual, but we will have the studio open at 8:30 pm for anyone who wants to come in and dance a little. (Sheila’s 7:30 pm Friday potluck class will not meet this week; it returns January 8th).

Line dances are very popular at the nearby Saddle Up Saloon & Dancehall.  Starting here on Monday, November 16th, Jon Serletic will teach the most popular dances. The classes will run on Mondays from 8 to 9 pm through the end of December. This class is $12 to drop in for an hour, or $46 for 4 consecutive weeks.
