Classes

All this year, if you bring someone who has never been to Two Left Feet before to a Friday night party, and he or she schedules a “Try Me” lesson for the following week, we’ll give you a private lesson the following week, too, for free!

“Try me” lessons are our regular private lessons at the special introductory rate of just $25 for the first lesson for new students. We’ll also offer your friend the opportunity to take Sheila’s potluck ballroom & latin class for just $5/lesson for four one-hour group lessons.

New at two left feet:

Freddy “Elliot” Dangoy, a black belt in karate, is offering instruction in self-defense Mondays from 6 to 7 pm. Price to be determined.

Amanda Donofrio will be offering hatha yoga classes at the studio, $15 per one hour class. Day/time to be determined.

Pamm will teach beginner swing again on Fridays at 7:30 pm, starting 6/6.  The cost is $46 per student for four one-hour group classes.

Also starting 6/6/08 at 7:30 pm, Sheila will be teaching a “potluck” beginner ballroom & latin class.  The cost for this class will be just $20 for 4 weeks. “Potluck” means Sheila won’t be following a predetermined schedule; on a given evening she may give a lesson on any of the dances taught at Two Left Feet. You can join this class any week.

I will be starting two step lessons again at two left feet , starting Wednesday May 7th.  8 to 9 pm, $75 per couple for the four weeks ($45 for singles).  It will be a beginners class — no previous experience necessary, but there will be some of my previous students attending so they can improve their basics.  Turn technique, hand connections, lead timing, move setup are some of the things covered.

Sultry Salsa Call us at 630-717-9930 to register for one of our Wednesday evening salsa or bachata workshops.

This week on the 6th, and next week, on the 13th, Jed Walker will have salsa workshops for those who have completed his beginner workshop, or who have equivalent experience.

On the 20th, Jed will hold a bachata workshop open to all.

On the 27th, he will have his beginner salsa workshop.  This class is good for people new to salsa, but even if you already know some salsa, this class can help you with your technique or teach you a new turn combination.

The workshops are each $35 for a three hour lesson from 7 to 10 pm.

Here’s a great opportunity to enjoy our expanded course offerings: if you pay for any two group classes, you can take a third group class for free!

(This is just for classes taught by Two Left Feet instructors.  Jon, Jed, and Susan are visiting faculty, and billing for their classes is handled separately).

We are adding a new class on Fridays at 7:30 pm, starting February 1st: line dancing. We’ll teach a mix of party favorites, Jack’s line dance, and one or two you may not have seen before. You don’t need a partner, and you can drop in any Friday for the class.  The cost will be $11 per class you attend.

On the 2nd and the 4th Fridays of the month, stick around after the line dance class for a dance party at 8:30. It is free if you are taking any class at Two Left Feet, or just $5 otherwise. February 8th will be our valentine’s day party.

The BDTC Teacher Training Program is a structured vocational course that trains you to dance and teach 17 dances. You will learn leading and following, the technical language of dance, musical information, and most importantly, how to share the joy of dancing with your students. The curriculum is divided by style of dance into four quarters. Register now for our next quarter.
